His primary business was making custom loose leaf indexes. As the business grew, Al’s inventive nature was put to use finding solutions to a variety of quality and capacity problems. This led to the creation of an entirely new product, Indent papers.
Indent was Al’s response to the reinforcing equipment available at that time, which was slow and produced a poor quality product. His solution was to buy his own converting equipment and develop the process to “indent” the film into the paper to eliminate the build-up in thickness resulting in efficient production and a high-quality product.
Additional new products followed and Holmberg developed a reputation for new and innovative products that serviced the changing print market.
Today with our third generation, we are still family-owned and run. While our company has grown from our early days below the grocery store, we are still proud to call Minneapolis, Minnesota our home. Our tradition of excellence continues in our product lines that include a variety of innovative, high-quality traditional and digital substrates.
